ROLL-DOWN SHUTTERS

We exclusively carry the Bertha/A.S.S.A line of roll-down shutter as they are considered by many to be the best storm shutter in the industry!

Roll-Down Hurricane Shutters are among the easiest and strongest type of hurricane shutter and are ideal for single family homes, condominium, apartment buildings, hospitals, schools, and commercial buildings.

Roll-down shutters, also known as roll-up shutters or simply “roll shutters”, sit above your window or door at all times and are easily lowered when a storm is approaching by either a motor, a manual crank handle, or in some cases, by hand (the new 63mm single wall shutter). The shutters are continuously contained in a small box above your opening and are rolled down along heavy-duty tracks which line the left and right side of your opening.

Benefits of Roll-Down Shutters:

  • Extremely Strong – Considered to be among the strongest type of hurricane shutter available

  • Ease of Use – Can be lowered in seconds with little or no effort – Even from across the world!

  • Security – Completely covers your opening, making it extremely difficult to penetrate

  • Light & Noise Blocking – Blocks out outside lighting and minimizes outside noise – perfect for bedrooms or theater rooms

  • Decreases heating & cooling costs – provides UV protection from the sun’s harmful rays

We offer three sizes of roll-down shutter:

1. 40mm double wall vented slats (non-vented slats available upon request)

2. 55mm double wall vented slats (non-vented slats available upon request)

3. New! 63mm single wall non-vented slats – Open and Close by Hand! (Restrictions Apply). Vented Slats not available

The main difference between the three types is the size of the slats on the shutter and the “single” or “double” wall. The “mm” refers to the height of each slat in millimeters (Each slat on a 40mm shutter is approximately 1.57” high, Each slat on a 55mm shutter is approximately 2.17” high, and each slat on a 63mm shutter is approximately 2.48” high). The 40mm and 55mm feature a “double wall” which features a closed loop while the 63mm is a single wall only. Vented slats allow light to pass through the rolldown when desired.

All three types of shutter can be used with or without a motor. When used with a motor, our roll-down shutters can be lowered and raised with a push of a button or even from miles away with your smart phone! Our shutters can be powered with either 110v or 220v circuits or even by solar power with our optional solar power kit! Have Alexa or Google Home? Our shutters can work with them too!

All of our roll-down shutters are made of strong and durable 6063-T6 aluminum alloy and have an end-retention system which eliminates the need for additional bracing.

Our roll-down shutters come in four (4) colors: White, Ivory, Beige, or Bronze.
